The four-time Yamaha MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi has continued the testing period for the new 2012 Ducati model.
Rossi is nearing the end of his testing period having spent six of his allotted eight days already out on the track with the new model.
The Italian said that the day was difficult but that developing a new bike takes a lot of time and focus to get it just right.
"Today we confirmed various aspects of the GP12's electronics and chassis, collecting a lot of useful information for [technical chief] Filippo [Preziosi] and the guys in the factory," he added.
According to Autosport, Rossi completed 82 laps and fell off the bike during the session but came out of the situation unscathed.
Ducati handed Rossi a modified version of the 2012 bike to ride earlier this season after a poor start to the current campaign.
Seven-time world champion Rossi made his switch to Ducati last August having spent a hugely successfully seven years with the Yamaha team.
